Palo Santo: The "Holy Wood" of the Americas
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is perhaps the most iconic sacred wood of the South American dry forests. Belonging to the same botanical family as Frankincense and Myrrh, its name literally translates to "Holy Wood" in Spanish, a testament to its thousand-year history of ritual use. 

The Sacred Lifecycle
The true magic of Palo Santo lies in its death. Traditionally, the wood cannot be "harvested" from a living tree. 
The Transformation: A tree must die naturally and lay on the forest floor for 3 to 5 years.
The Alchemy: During this period of rest, a chemical transformation occurs. The sap crystallizes and develops the wood's signature essential oils and "citrus-pine-mint" aroma.
The Spirit: Indigenous cultures believe that only through this natural death does the tree's spirit offer its healing properties to the world. 

🌬️ Shamanic Cleansing and "Mala Energía"
Since the time of the Incan Empire, Palo Santo has been a primary tool for Limpias (spiritual cleansings).
