Osha root, commonly known as the bear root. This perennial herb is found in tall, dry grasslands and canyons in the Rocky Mountains. The beneficial part of the Osha plant is the root, which has been used and revered for many years by Native Americans for flu, coughs, and other respiratory ailments.
Osha is sacred to many people, including the Aztec, Zuni, Yaqui, Mescalero Apache, Chiricahua, and Tarahumara tribes. It contains anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
Traditionally, our indigenous ancestors used Osha for sore throats, colds, flu, and upper respiratory tract infections.
