Nunu, is a devotional rapé blend traditionally made by the Masteś tribe using the sacred ashes of the Cupui tree.

In Amazonian cultures, the Cupuí tree (Theobroma subincanum) is more than a source of food; it is a sacred element woven into the spiritual and communal fabric of the forest. As a close relative of cacao—the "Food of the Gods"—it shares a legacy of ritual significance and ancestral wisdom.

The "Lovers of Cupuaçu" Myth: Folklore often links the Cupuí (and its domesticated form, Cupuaçu) to stories of love. One legend tells of two young lovers whose spirits merged into the fruit to offer eternal sweetness to those who taste it, making the tree a symbol of union and devotion.

Sacred Seeds as Living Memory: In many Amazonian cosmologies, seeds are seen as "living memory". The Cupuí seed represents the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth, connecting the physical world with ancestral spirits.
